is located at a peninsula that is also home to Europe’s largest onshore wind project, but lacks both widespread, energy intensive industry and a solid long-distance transmission network.
Mosjøen where Gen2 Energy has two projects, is located in the heart of the geographical area of Norway that has the highest amounts of trapped energy from hydropower.
Mosjøen in Helgeland region
At the end of the 48 kilometres long Vefsnfjorden is Mosjøen – the oldest town on the coast of Helgeland. Today built around Alcoa’s massive aluminium smelter. And it’s no coincidence that Mosjøen is home to large-scale energy-intensive industry.
Mosjøen is located in the heart of the region with some of Norway’s largest hydropower resources, and still one of a few places in Norway with massive amounts of trapped renewable energy.
